SEMINAR FOCUSES ON UNIQUE FINANCIAL CONCERNS OF WOMEN

HAVERHILL, MA —- Women at Northern Essex Community College had the opportunity to learn a new concept in financial planning when Harry Wiksten, Financial Planner, of Northeast Planning Associates, Inc.  presented the seminar Smart Women Finish Rich. The presentation, sponsored by Northeast Community Credit Union, focuses specifically on the specific financial needs concerning women. In a shift from traditional financial planning, Smart Women Finish Rich™ focuses on life values and living a fuller, richer life while preparing for retirement.

The Career Development Center at NECC hosted the seminar.

Smart Women Finish Rich™ is based on a book of the same title by author David Bach. There are seven key steps designed to help women create a plan toward financial independence while experiencing and pursuing life’s future.  Some of the topics include:

• Put your money where your values are
• Figure out where you stand financially
• Discover the power of the Latte Factor™
• Build financial “Baskets” for your retirement, your security and your dreams

“NECC does a tremendous job in the career development area, and we felt that as a credit union, we could extend their resources from a financial planning perspective,” stated Northeast Community Credit Union’s Treasurer/CEO Peter Di Benedetto. “Anyone can talk about how to work towards reaching financial goals, but the reality is, it is very difficult to stick to those goals if you are not enjoying your life while working toward those goals. This seminar has a specific way of looking at financial planning and we thought the students at NECC would find it particularly meaningful.”
